Lucasfilm have announced they’re planning on converting all the six Star Wars movies into 3D to cash in on the new technology to allow the fans to experience the movies in a new dimension.

Starting with the Epsiode One – The Phantom Menace to be released in 2010, with the other movies in the series following.

I’m a bit “old skool” I guess, being part of the original Star Wars generation, so not sure if this is a good idea or not. Haven’t they sullied the good name of Star Wars enough already?

I haven’t seen any 3D post-production conversion movies such as Clash of the Titans, but I’ve heard the 3D quality isn’t too hot so it remains top be seen if Lucasfilms can pull it off.
